No Longer A Slave

Paul's letter to Philemon

The book of Philemon consists of only one chapter–which is a prison epistle from Paul, written to Philemon. This letter is a plea, to request forgiveness for his runaway servant Onesimus, who was a new believer in Christ.

Through Paul’s letter to Philemon, we discover his love for the church, his love for reconciliation and how he graciously handles a difficult situation. Using Paul as an example, Philemon displays how the gospel can accelerate the restoration process and the difference it makes in our hearts and our relationships, especially relationships in which we’ve been wronged.
